FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transportation of oil products, liquid and gaseous media, namely to cleaning of external surface of end sections of pipes from insulation and preparation of ends for further performance of construction and installation jobs and butt welding. Device for removal of external insulation from ends and / or preparation of pipe ends includes housing, faceplate with tool holders, installed uniformly along perimeter and equipped with cutters, drive and feed mechanism, and rams. Rams are installed in housing holes with possibility of radial movement till interaction with pipe from inside under action of cone pressing from inside, which is installed with possibility of movement relative to housing by means of screw with mechanism of mechanical rotation. Housing is equipped with central hole with thread for screw, rigidly connected with cone. Between mechanical rotation mechanism and cone with screw lengthwise cylindrical guide is installed. Feed mechanism is made in the form of the central hole in the face plate under the longitudinal guide. Each cutter holder is made in form of L-shaped angle with radial hole for cutters and radial handle acting as drive. Cutters are inserted into the cutter holders holes with possibility of movement and fixation in the selected position.

EFFECT: proposed device is simple in operation, reliable in manufacture, operation and maintenance, allows to work also in field conditions, to remove insulation from ends and / or to prepare pipe ends due to simple design.
