FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting alkali metals from hydromineral material, particularly extracting rubidium from underground industrial water. Method comprises sorption of rubidium on an inorganic sorbent which is titanium phosphate in sodium form, desorption of rubidium with a sorbent with a solution of hydrochloric acid with transfer of rubidium into a solution, evaporation of a desorption solution, treatment of the residue with an alcohol-acid solution containing the following in wt%: ethyl alcohol 75–79 and hydrochloric acid 21–25, filtration of the solution and evaporation to obtain rubidium chloride and an alcohol-acid solution for repeated use.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the degree of extraction of rubidium, an increase in the use of the sorbent and the simplification of the rubidium desorption process.
