SUBSTANCE: field of application: electrical equipment. Method comprises: obtaining a first line current value, to which a compensator or series converters are connected in a compensator, and first voltage value of bus, to which compensator is connected, or line to which compensator is connected; if the first current value is greater than the preset current threshold value, and the duration is greater than the first preset threshold time value, the serial converters and series transformers are deactivated; if the first voltage value is less than the predetermined voltage threshold value, or is equal to it, and duration is greater than second predetermined threshold time value, wherein value of output voltage of successive converters is equal to zero, and if second current value of element corresponding to first current value corresponds to conditions, which first current value must match, inactivation of serial converters and serial transformers; and otherwise, if the second voltage value of the line corresponding to the first voltage value is greater than the predetermined threshold voltage value, and longer than the third preset threshold time value, setting the output voltage value of the serial converters to zero and obtaining the first current value.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of line protection device, safety and stability of power system.
