FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing cast iron in a blast furnace. Method involves charging iron ore raw material and charcoal as fuel to a blast furnace, wherein the charcoal is saturated with methane before filling by adsorption from natural gas with provision of methane desorption in upper layers of the mine during melting.
EFFECT: reduced greenhouse gas emissions during cast iron smelting, increased thermal capacity of coal and thermal power of furnace.
