TRANSILLUMINATOR FOR VEINS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61M5/00

Abstract RU 2734284 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to devices for visualization and localization of venous system, and can be used in procedures of needle insertion or for determination of body point, where it is necessary to take an injection, etc. Transilluminator for veins, comprising flat-shaped housing, power supply for light-emitting diodes with control device, arranged in housing part, which functionally is a transilluminator handle, a lighting portion in the form of an arc surrounding a circular through opening of the housing, designed to inspect a circular area of the patient's body surface, on a circular arc there is a row of light-emitting diodes, light-emitting diodes are connected so to a printed-circuit board combined with an arc to ensure radiation focusing in the round inspection area below the lower surface of housing by 0.5–15 mm, also along the perimeter of the lower edge of the round window there is a height of about 3 mm, the LEDs are placed symmetrically in the sequence "one red—three orange" and connected to the microcontroller-based control device, in which there are computer-readable commands for controlling the LED power supply by two push-button switches separately for red and orange light-emitting diodes, wherein the control includes the following steps of executing instructions, executable sequentially by one switch: switching on a group of LEDs at 100 % brightness—reducing radiation brightness to 50 %—reduction of radiation brightness to 25 %—switching on LEDs at 100 % brightness—switching off a group of light-emitting diodes, microcontroller also contains machine-readable instructions with demonstration of battery charge outside transilluminator operating mode by simultaneous pressing of two button switches.

EFFECT: device provides high quality visualization of the vascular system.
