SUBSTANCE: method includes selection of clay samples from the section, establishment of secondary color and presence of hydrocarbons; separation by way of water immiscibility into clayey and clayey-carbonate differences; disintegration of weakly and tightly cemented clay-carbonate rocks; measurement of oxidation-reduction potential Eh and alkali-acid properties of pH; determining dry residue weight of soluble salts; determining quantitative predominance of monovalent and divalent soluble rock cations relative to each other; extraction of clay fraction; determining reversible and irreversible clay substance coagulates; determination of clay fraction mass. At that, the interval characterized by deposition of carbonates in clay hydrophilic rock, abnormal decrease of dry residue weight and fraction of Ca++, Mg++ cations, with respect to the proportion of Na+, K+ soluble salts, which corresponds to movement of cations Ca++, Mg++ from soluble rock salts and from reservoirs of clay minerals absorption into insoluble carbonates.
