FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geochemical methods of predicting hydrocarbon pools and can be used for local oil and gas prediction on supposedly perspective areas. In conformity with claimed method, samples of subsoil deposits are taken according to profiles crossing area being examined, after which they are calcined to determine calcinations loss. Samples are additionally examined for Eh and pH values, and secondary mineral formation composition. Presence in the depth of non-productive, productive, and water-oil contact zone is judged of from combination of above obtained values in samples. Eh values (taking into consideration corresponding pH values) are marked on the map of subject area according to sampling sites and comparable Fh values are connected by isolines so enabling reveal of non-productive, productive, edge hydrocarbon pool zones, and water-oil contact zone.
EFFECT: expanded prediction possibilities and enabled rapid reveal of supposedly perspective oil and gas structures.
