FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding and concerns operation of floating dock in winter conditions. Disclosed is a method of cleaning a floating dock from broken ice using barrier shields arranged between towers at the ends of a floating dock. After entering the ship in the dock, protecting shields are closed. Surfacing of dock is started with closed barrier shields, and after contact of documented ship of dock supports, opening screens are opened to ensure water drainage over deck-deck together with broken ice.
EFFECT: higher reliability and reduced labour consumption of floating dock in winter conditions.
