FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding and ship repair, and relates in particular to the operation of a dry dock in winter conditions. A method for protecting a dry dock from broken ice is proposed, including the creation of a surface one-way directed flow in the dock, and after filling the dry dock with water, simultaneously with the opening of the bath port, water is supplied to the dry dock, while the water is supplied at the dock wall opposite the bath port.
EFFECT: simplification of the dry dock design, increase of the reliability of its operation in winter conditions.
