FIELD: bridge engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bridge-building and can be used as an expansion joint connecting carriageways of adjacent span structures of beam bridges. Beam bridge expansion joint includes connected ends of reinforced concrete slabs of carriageway of beam bridge span structures arranged with gap relative to each other, covering the gap between the ends of reinforced concrete slabs of the carriageway, a metal support plate, a waterproofing arranged on the surface of connected reinforced concrete slabs of span structures of the bridge and above the metal support plate, macadam-mastic filling, asphalt concrete pavement of the bridge carriageway. Connectable ends of reinforced concrete slabs of the carriageway are located below adjacent sections of plates of the carriageway, form jointly trough-shaped recess on the surface of slabs of the beam bridge span structures carriageways, metal support plate is made in cross-section of curved U-shape in cross section and installed in gap between connected ends of reinforced concrete slabs of carriageway with compressed by value Δ=Δ1+Δ2 design linear displacements Δ1 and Δ2, connected ends of reinforced concrete slabs of the carriageway towards each other by upper ends of the metal support plate, note here that asphalt concrete pavement of bridge carriageway is made continuous above macadam-mastic filling of expansion joint.
EFFECT: use of this design of expansion joint increases durability and operational reliability of expansion joint due to elimination of its reorganization and recovery when performing works associated with milling of wear layer of asphalt concrete pavement and its subsequent recovery.
