FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology, monitoring of environmental pollution and can be used in assessing the degree of toxicity of a land plot of territory. Method involves simultaneous sampling of shoots with leaves in different herbaceous plants on an experimental study territory and on a reference conditionally clean territory, testing the analyzed samples, analyzing and comparing the test results. Estimation of the environmental condition of the territory includes five stages: at the first stage sprouts are collected, at the second stage the average sample is tested: by 50–100 g, at the third stage, the obtained aqueous dust-like suspensions are measured from the experimental territory by two parameters: pH and TDS, g/l, and compared with values from the conventionally clean zone, where the pH should be within 6–8, and the TDS value is less than 1,000 mg/l, and assessing the ecological state of the territory on the experimental territory as not hazardous, at the fourth step, cold water extraction of the plant material is carried out, at the fifth step, the aqueous suspension is again measured by the same two pH and TDS values, which are compared with values of pH and TDS values of water plant dust suspensions obtained from herbaceous plants growing on control conditionally clean territory, and assessing the ecological state of the experimental territory (state of soil and surface layer of atmospheric air simultaneously), if the pH value is less than 6 or more than 8, and the TDS value is more than 1,000 mg/l, the ecological condition of the territory, i.e. soil and surface layer of atmospheric air simultaneously, is assessed as hazardous.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy and efficiency of assessing the ecological state of a territory.
