SUBSTANCE: method of communication for determining the waveform to be used when transmitting an uplink to a terminal device in different scenarios involves: the terminal device transmits first indication information used to indicate the location region in which the terminal device is currently located to the network device; the terminal device receives the second indication information transmitted by the network device, wherein the second indication information is used to indicate the first target waveform, wherein the first target signal form determines a network device from at least two optional uplink signal forms according to the location, in which terminal device is currently located; and the terminal device performs uplink transmission using the first target waveform.
