FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, oncology and orthopedics, and can be used for prevention of interbody implant instability after vertebral body defect replacement with primary and metastatic spinal tumors removal. Method involves removing the injured vertebra, placing the implant into a defect between bodies of adjacent vertebrae, which is filled in middle part with bone cement. It is followed by fenestration of the central segments of the end plate of adjacent vertebrae. Bone cement is introduced inside the implant, leaving its two end parts unfilled at depth of 1 cm from the edges. End parts of the implant are filled to the level of the edge with subsequent tamping with pre-prepared bone scrap from the spongy allogenic graft.
EFFECT: method provides adequate reconstruction of the spinal column, maximum stability of the interbody implant and enables reducing the risk of postoperative complications ensured by the use of an allo bone graft and fenestration of the end-to-end vertebra plates.
