SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to methods and apparatus used for fast ionic polymerisation of a reaction mixture containing a liquid monomer in order to produce an appropriate polymer. Described is a polymerisation apparatus for ionic polymerisation of a reaction mixture containing a liquid isomer of isobutylene, including a polymerisation loop and a coolant circuit, as well as a reactor-heat exchanger system (RHES), separated between the polymerisation loop and the coolant circuit.
EFFECT: technical result is the creation of a polymerisation apparatus and method which enable to realize an energy-efficient process of producing a polymer with a narrow molecular weight distribution.
