SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for polymerisation or copolymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated monomers at pressure ranging from 110 MPa to 500 MPa. Production line comprises a continuous action polymerisation reactor, where at least one preheater or post-reactor cooler, polymerisation reactor or post-reactor cooler consists of pipes with length of 5 m to 25 m, which are connected to each other directly or by bends, and flanges are closed by air duct and air, which is passed through air duct, and air coming from air duct, are controlled for concentration of hydrocarbons.

EFFECT: quick detection of leakage in flanges of production line for polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated monomers at pressure of 110–500 MPa.
