SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to sanitary-hygienic means, namely to absorbing mats used in industrial livestock farming with floor management of animals, as well as used for care of domestic animals. Bedding zoohygienic material is a bulk carpet, which includes sawdust and peat. Composition of bulk carpet is formed by thermo-modified wood chips obtained from coniferous wood and representing wood particles with length from 10 to 40 mm, width from 5 to 20 mm, thickness from 0.1 to 0.6 mm, bent in direction across fibers with boom sagging of not less than 1 mm. Particles of wood chips are held in medium of water vapor at temperature from 270 °C to 300 °C to residual relative humidity of not more than 10 %. Upper sphagnum peat contains Sphagnum Magellanicum of not less than 70 % has degree of decomposition of not more than 20 % and particle size of not more than 40 mm.

EFFECT: provision of allowable zoohygienic criteria of level of dust formation when using litter material, high adsorption and bactericidal properties of the litter material and simplification of its production technology.
