FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and can be used in production of high-strength structural and tool materials and articles, for example drawing tools. As a powder material, a baddeleyite concentrate is used with addition of titanium dioxide in amount of 0.5 wt. % and calcium oxide in amount of up to 2 wt. %. Mixture of powder materials is subjected to dry high-energy grinding in planetary mill with balls with diameter of 1.5 mm from ZrO2 stabilized by CaO for 5 hours, after which powder is separated from balls on vibrating screen and powders are compacted by uniaxial dry pressing at pressure of 560 MPa, after that, non-sintered compacts are subjected to sintering in two-step sintering mode in air atmosphere at normal pressure at temperature of 1300 °C with further exposure at 1200 °C for 6 hours.
EFFECT: technical result consists in facilitating compaction, providing more effective sintering, increasing hardness, crack resistance and Young's modulus.
