FIELD: metallurgy; machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and machine building, namely to chemical-thermal treatment of alloyed steels by nitration. Thermosetting epoxide compound consisting of nitrogen-containing epoxy resin (A), amine or amide or amine-amide curing agent (B) is applied on the defatted steel part, and filler in form of aluminium powder (C), wt. parts in ratio A:B from 100:5 to 100:80 and (A + B):C from 100:80 to 100:400 with subsequent curing in an oven at temperature of 30 °C to 160 °C for 3 minutes to 180 minutes. Heat treatment is then carried out at temperature of 500 °C to 1000 °C for 20 minutes to 80 minutes with aluminium melting and decomposition of epoxide compound to form active atomic nitrogen, absorbed by aluminium melt with formation of aluminium nitride and nitrides of other metals on surface of steel part. Unreacted aluminium is then removed.
EFFECT: creation of safe and effective process of nitriding of steel parts for operation in conditions of friction with large contact loads and increased wear.
