FIELD: chemical or physical processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of chemical engineering, liquid extraction of noble metals during their industrial production. In the method of producing noble metals from multicomponent process solutions, an initial acidic chloride solution containing noble metals and impurities, is introduced into an aqueous two-phase system consisting of polyethylene glycol with molecular weight from 1,500 to 20,000 and a phase-forming salt. Phase-forming salt used is ammonium sulphate or a metal sulphate selected from Na, Li, Cu, Zn, Mg, Cd, Co, which is a part of impurities. Acidity of process solution 0.001–2 M HCl, and content of chloride ions 10–90 g/dm3. Then platinum (IV) and palladium (II) are extracted to polymer phase. Salt phase is directed to recovery of other noble metals and subsequent extraction of phase-forming salt, which is used for preparation of two-phase system for next extraction cycle.

EFFECT: providing creation of extraction systems based on water-soluble available reagents, which can be used in multistage extraction equipment to create closed circuits for processing raw material of noble metals, in order to reduce production wastes and simplify their recycling, as well as to improve profitability of affinity technologies.
