SUBSTANCE: device for feeding items, for example meat pieces, comprises an initial transport mechanism, an object releasing mechanism configured to switch between a pass enable state in which passage of transported objects is permitted, and the items release state, in which the transported objects are discharged from the transportation path; and distributing transport mechanism, which distributes objects released from transportation path by mechanism for release of objects, into multiple destinations for further transportation of objects. Device also comprises a first sensor for detecting objects, which detects objects passing through the detection region, corresponding to each of a plurality of positions on the transportation path; second sensor for detecting objects, which detects objects, released by mechanism for releasing objects into distribution transport mechanism; and a controller which selects one of the object passage and release enable states based on the detection results output from the first object detection sensor and the second object detection sensor.
EFFECT: reduced load on operator and labour.
