FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used at metalworking industry enterprises for assessment of grinding wheel serviceability at grinding under specific conditions at selected equipment and processing mode. Grinding wheel test consists of installation of grinding wheel on faceplate of grinding head, installation of dressing tool and sample of rectangular cross-section on surface of table of surface grinding machine, straightening of grinding wheel, measuring the length of the ground surface of the sample and the distance from the ground surface of the sample to the surface of the table of the machine tool, grinding the sample, measuring the distance from the ground surface of the sample to the surface of the table and selecting the criterion by which the serviceability of the grinding wheels is determined. Samples are used, at installation of which on the surface of the table of the machine tool distance from the ground surface of the sample to the surface of the table of the machine tool is less than the distance from the working surface of the ruling tool to the surface of the table of the machine tool, at that, as the first ground sample, at installation of which on the surface of the machine table the distance from the ground surface to the table surface of the machine is maximum, grinding the first sample, maintaining the movement of the circle from the plane passing through the top of the working surface of the dressing tool and parallel to the surface of the machine table, of a certain value, the following samples are ground, wherein value of displacement of circles in vertical direction from said plane is calculated by formula A2=A1+H1-H2; where A2 is value of vertical movement of grinding wheel at grinding of each sample, except for first one; A1 is value of vertical displacement of grinding wheel at grinding of the first sample; H1 is distance from ground surface of first sample to table surface of machine tool; H2 is the distance from the surface of the sample to the surface of the table of the machine during grinding of the following samples. As criterion determining serviceability of grinding wheels, ratio of difference between distance from polished surface of sample to surface of table of machine and distance from ground surface of sample to table of machine to length of ground surface of sample is used.
EFFECT: improving accuracy of determination of grinding wheel serviceability and simplification of method implementation.
