FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil refining industry. Described is a method of controlling catalytic reforming, in which, based on models, increment of the octane number on each reactor is calculated, predicted time of catalyst run, calculating increment of reformate octane number at outlet of each reactor by formula, controlling temperature at input of feedstock into reactors based on difference between preset and calculated values of octane number of obtained reformate, as well as calculating specific fuel consumption per increment unit of reformate octane number on each reactor, wherein heating temperature of raw material of that reactor is changed, for which specific fuel flow per increment unit of reformate octane number is minimum when octane number increase is required or for which specific fuel flow per increment unit of reformate octane number is maximum when it is necessary to reduce octane number to preset limits, wherein conditions are met that rate of reduction of catalyst activity and / or predicted time of catalyst run and temperature of raw material at reactor inputs does not exceed specified tolerance values.
