FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of composite materials based on Ti-B-Fe system modified with nanosized aluminium nitride particles. Method combines self-propagating high-temperature synthesis with subsequent high-temperature deformation of synthesis products (SHS - extrusion). Reaction charge is prepared from 57 wt. % of titanium, 13 wt. % of boron, 25–29 wt. % of iron and 1–5 wt. % of nanosized aluminium nitride particles, cold pressing of cylindrical workpiece is performed with relative density of 0.5–0.6, its heat insulation is placed into metal mould, combustion reaction is initiated, products of synthesis are compacted during combustion with pressure of 0.01–0.5 MPa and their subsequent extrusion is performed at pressure of 20–100 MPa.
EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of items: high microhardness and hardness, reduced size of structural components.
