FIELD: medicine; maxillofacial surgery; surgical dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions discloses a bone fracture fixation device and a method for preparing it. Device is characterized by that it comprises plate with through holes installed on bone tissue in area of fracture. Surface of the plate and fastening screws are completely coated with a bioinert, bio-resistant dielectric coating of silicon carbide with thickness of 2 nm to 2 mm. Coating is deposited in vacuum from beam of accelerated charged and/or neutral particles with energy of 30 eV to 15 keV, containing atoms of carbon and silicon. Invention provides barrier function: protection of person from toxic emissions from metal alloys and polymers, protection against biodegradation, biofouling of surfaces of materials of plates and fasteners, protection from galvanism due to dielectric properties of coating, as well as reduced friction coefficient of friction and absence of exfoliation of the coating when screws are screwed into bone tissue.
EFFECT: group of inventions is intended to increase efficiency of treating bone fractures with the help of bone plates.
