FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and a method of determining content of tributyl phosphate in organic solutions, involving alkaline treatment of a washed organic solution, separation of the aqueous phase, subsequent treatment of organic solution of chlorine, hydrochloric or sulfuric acid with concentration of 5 to 10 mol/dm3 with ratio of volumes of acid and organic solution of 1:1, stirring and settling mixture, determining amount of tributyl phosphate by relative volume of released middle layer to total volume of organic phase, where the initial organic solution is first washed with water at a ratio of volumes of water and organic solution of 2:1–1:1 with subsequent settling and separation of phases.
EFFECT: invention provides fast determination of content of TBP in a wide range of concentrations regardless of concentration of metal and acid in organic solution without using apparatus for separation of phases.
