FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, namely to production of chemical agents for treatment of drilling mud. Method of producing drilling mud treatment reagent involves oxidation of starch with hydrogen peroxide to produce carboxy starch and subsequent sulphation of carboxy starch with sodium thiosulphate and 30 % sodium lignosulphonate while heating to temperature of not less than 80 °C and stirring the reaction mixture for at least 60 minutes followed by rapid cooling and precipitation of the obtained lignocarboxymatic starch with ethyl alcohol, with the following ratio of ingredients, wt%: hydrogen peroxide 0.3-0.5; starch 8-10; sodium thiosulphate 5-7; 30 % sodium lignosulphonate 80-72; ethyl alcohol - balance.
EFFECT: controlling rheological properties of process liquids used in drilling oil and gas wells owing to the esterified product obtained as a result of the method.
