SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of antioxidant activity of biologically active preparations and can be used in pharmaceutics, cosmetology and food industry for evaluation and comparison of antioxidant activity of liquid water-soluble forms obtained from natural raw material, as well as individual water-soluble compounds or their mixtures. Method for assessing antioxidant activity of biologically active preparations by evaluating their ability to inhibit autooxidation of epinephrine in an alkaline medium at room temperature based on the value of the optical density of the autooxidation product adrenaline, absorbing at wavelength of 347 nm, formed in the absence and presence of said biologically active preparations, consists in that measurement of optical density is carried out in a reaction mixture containing such amount of biologically active preparation, which corresponds to a minimum curve on the curve of the optical density gain value at 347 nm from the quantitative content of the preparation in the mixture, antioxidant activity of biologically active preparations is evaluated by value of antioxidative activity IAOA, defined by the following ratio: IAOA=[ΔD347(control) - ΔD347(test)min]/ ΔD347(control) × 100%.

EFFECT: invention enables to compare different preparations by antioxidant efficiency and substantiates the required dosage.
