FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a cyanate ester prepolymer based on cyanate esters of bisphenols. Method of producing a cyanate ester prepolymer based on bisphosphonate dicyanates is characterized in that thermally expanded graphite is added to melt of bisphenol-dicyanate in amount of 0.2 to 15 wt % and the obtained reaction mixture is dispersed under the action of ultrasonic radiation with frequency of 20–40 kHz and intensity of 6–15 W per 1 cm3 at temperature of 140–170 °C for 2–12 hours. Bisphenol-dicyanate used is compounds of general structural formula:
, where R is aryl, alkyl or adamantyl.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a resin based on a cyanate ester prepolymer, used, in particular, as a binder for the preparation of carbon fiber, having high heat conductivity across the fibers, which leads to reduction of deformations and internal stresses in obtained products and provides for manufacture of articles with increased size stability.
