FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to remote methods of detecting and estimating speed, altitude, location and type of objects in selected zone of underlying surface. Cyclic alternating vertical radar probing of individual fragments of the underlying surface is performed, the set of which forms the selected zone. At the end of each probing cycle, for each of the signals, a high-reflectivity relief (HRR) of the selected area is formed with a resolution determined by the selected dimensions of the individual fragments. Height-reflecting relief contains information not only on height, but also on reflecting power of separate fragments of zone. By combined processing of current HRR electromagnetic and acoustic and HRR unoccupied (empty) zone information is generated on occupancy scenario of selected zone, including dimensions of objects (width, length and height) located in zone, their speed and direction of movement, as well as relative density of objects.
EFFECT: high reliability of estimating a scenario of occupancy of a selected zone of an underlying surface.
