FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: preferred method of separating a hydrocarbon gas stream generally involves obtaining at least a substantially condensed first stream and a cooled second stream, expansion of both flows to lower pressure and supply of these flows to rectification column. In the disclosed method and installation, the overhead steam from the column is directed into an absorption device and a heat and mass transfer device inside the processing unit. Part of the output steam from the processing unit is compressed to a higher pressure, cooled and substantially condensed in heat exchange device inside processing unit, then expanded to lower pressure and supplied to heat and mass transfer device, to provide cooling. Condensed liquid from the absorption device is supplied to the column.
EFFECT: method and apparatus for compact processing unit are disclosed to improve extraction of C2 (or C3) and heavier hydrocarbon components from hydrocarbon gas flow.
