FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of determining residual stresses and can be used to determine distribution of residual stresses along pipe wall section. Method includes determination of axial residual stress in surface layer on outer surface of pipe sample by etching and subsequent determination of distribution of axial, tangential and radial residual stresses along section of pipe wall. Method includes determination of axial residual stress in surface layer on inner surface of pipe sample by etching and subsequent determination of distribution of axial, tangential and radial residual stresses along section of pipe wall. By using method, it is possible to determine distribution of residual stresses along section of pipe wall in case of action on both surfaces of residual stresses of identical sign with application of hypothesis of parabolic distribution.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy and broader capabilities of methods for determining residual stresses.
