SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the operation of a medical system. Disclosed is a method, system, a control device characterized by performing the following actions: in a control device, setting a first threshold value for a physiological parameter, which is matched to a first receiving device capable of outputting notification to user of first receiving device when receiving alarm data from control device (30); in the control device, a second, different from the first threshold value is set for the physiological parameter, which is matched with a second receiving device different from the first receiving device and capable of delivering notification to the user of the second receiving device when receiving alarm data from control device (30); in control instrument (30), receiving a monitoring data stream displaying the physiological parameter continuously monitored by sensor device (20); determining the current value of the physiological parameter from the monitoring data stream; and when output of current value for first threshold value, alarm data are transmitted from control device (30) to first receiving device, and when output of current value for second threshold value, alarm data are transmitted from control device (30) to second receiving device. A medical system, a control instrument and a computer program product are also provided.
