SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a drive device for movable part (3) of a piece of furniture with a lockable push-out device (6), made with possibility of moving movable part (3) of furniture item by means of energy accumulator (22) from closing position in opening direction, wherein pushing device (6) is unlocked when excessive load is applied to movable part (3) of furniture item from locked position of closure in closing direction, wherein protection against excess load is provided, preventing unlocking of push-out device (6) in closing and moving movable part (3) of furniture item through position of closing in position of excessive load, wherein there is switching element (60), driven by control element (40), configured to be connected to movable part (3) of the furniture piece, and enabling unlocking of ejecting device (6) in first position and preventing unlocking of ejecting device (6) in second position, at continuous movement of movable part (3) of the furniture item in the closing direction to the closing position and through the closing position to the excessive load position, control element (40) moves switching element (60) from the first to the second position, note here that at moving movable part (3) of furniture item from over load position to closing position switching element (60) can move from second position to first position.
EFFECT: disclosed are a drive for a movable portion of a piece of furniture and a piece of furniture.
