FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to psychiatry and psychiatry-addictology, and aims at treating abstinent syndrome and preventing the development of psychosis in individuals with a dependence on synthetic agonists of gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors, such as butyrolactone and 1,4-butanediol. Method of treating and preventing psychosis involves a disintoxication therapy comprising 0.9 % sodium chloride solution 1200 ml/day, acesol solution 400 ml/day, vitamins B, as well as intake of Phenibut in dose of 0.25 g three times a day, in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening, daily for 10 days.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides reduced treatment time of abstinence syndrome by fast recovery of cerebral control function, preventing complications in the form of psychosis development and reducing the use of sedatives traditionally used in abstinence treatment systems.
