SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics, neurology, vertebrology, and can be used for diagnosing arthrosis of a zygapophyseal joint of lumbar vertebrae. In the real-time multiplanar ultrasonic scanning, the spinal canal is examined in a cross-section. Distance between the center of the vertebral canal and the inner surface of the right and left zygapophyseal joints of lumbar vertebrae is determined. With this distance reduced to 4.59 ± 0.92 mm and more are diagnosed of arthrosis of a lumbar vertebra ligament on a size reduction side.

EFFECT: method provides diagnosing arthrosis of a zygapophyseal joint of lumbar vertebrae, establishing localization of zygapophyseal joint of lumbar vertebrae by determining the distance between the centre of the spinal canal and the inner surface of the right and left zygapophyseal joints of the lumbar vertebrae.
