SUBSTANCE: method of preparation for firing self-propelled artillery gun, in which winding the heating cable on the barrel and the chillers, covering the muzzle brake and anti-rollback devices with the heat-insulating casing, connecting the heating cable to the power supply source, shaft and anti-rollback devices are heated to 15 °C, maintaining constant temperature in heated elements. Heat-shielding casing with muzzle brake is removed before firing. If it is necessary to produce the next shots, heat shields are removed from the barrel and anti-rollback devices. Heat-shielding casing is made quick-detachable for every concealed element.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of self-propelled artillery-type weapon firing when firing at maximum charges in low temperature conditions.
