FIELD: armaments, applicable for automated ballistic preparation of fire of tank guns and self-propelled artillery guns.

SUBSTANCE: the method consists in introduction of a correction for variation of the propellant charge temperature into the shell muzzle velocity by taking into account the variation of the propellant charge temperature before fire. To this end, a temperature-sensitive element is installed in the propellant charge, a signal is read off the temperature-sensitive element and its value is taken into account at introduction of the correction into the shell muzzle velocity.

EFFECT: enhanced precision of determination of the shell muzzle velocity.
