FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: method of automated ballistic preparation of fire consists in that the correction for gun barrel warming up is entered automatically at every shot. To allow for barrel warming up before shooting, it is proposed to arrange temperature pickups on the barrel outer side. In firing, the signal proportional to the barrel temperature over its entire length is picked up from the temperature pickups and is allowed for in computation and entering of correction into the shell initial velocity.

EFFECT: higher fire efficiency, rate of fire, eliminating necessity of warming-up shot.
