FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing monomers, a method of producing xylan fragments, use of formaldehyde and use of monomers. Method of producing monomers from lignin by depolymerization involves the following steps: a) providing a lignocellulose-containing composition, b) heating the composition from step a) under acidic conditions with aldehyde, ketone, boronic acid or compound, selected from 2-methoxypropene, dimethyl carbonate and 2,2-dimethoxypropane, c) separating lignin fragments from the mixture obtained at step b), d) converting the lignin fragments obtained at step c) into monomers. Method of producing xylan fragments by depolymerization involves the following steps: a) providing a lignocellulose-containing composition, b) heating the composition from step a) under acidic conditions with aldehyde, ketone, boronic acid or compound, selected from 2-methoxypropene, dimethyl carbonate and 2,2-dimethoxypropane, and c') separating xylan fragments from the mixture obtained at step b). Monomers obtained from lignin are used to obtain resins, transport fuel or monomers for producing polymers.

EFFECT: technical result is the development of a method of producing lignin monomers, which can be used in a simple and effective manner even when used in a large-scale process and is preferably compatible with general bioconcentration techniques.
