SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machines for preparation of beverages for preparation of beverages or similar products from portion package with shell (for example, capsule) and extracted material (for example, coffee), contained in shell and to method. Method is used for operation of machine (1) for preparation of beverages for production of the end product using portion package (3) and according to the preparation instruction. Method comprises steps of: reading portion package (3) portion code (33) by portion recognition unit (132); determining the first cooking parameters in the preparation instructions, portions assigned to portion code (33) and stored in the beverage preparation machine (1), and determining the second preparation parameters in the preparation instructions, wherein at least one of first and/or second cooking parameters is a configurable cooking parameter, and at least one cooking parameter is non-adjustable; reading user input for setting at least one customized cooking parameter; end product is prepared according to the cooking instructions with at least one set cooking parameter. Invention makes it possible to prepare multiple versions of beverages, wherein the cooking parameters are as best as possible in accordance with the characteristics of the beverage version and, in particular, with its initial materials.
EFFECT: invention enables to use preparation parameters, which are generally variable and can be individually optimized and fixed for a specific type of capsule (portion package corresponding to the portion code), and also provides possibility of protection of preparation parameters against changes or corrections.
