FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to paediatrics, endocrinology, pulmonology, somnology. Method for predicting development of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) in adolescent boys suffering adiposity involves determining polysomnographic analysis values and calculating prognostic coefficient by formula, wherein presentation of 2nd stage of slow-wave sleep (S2, %), the average frequency of sleep spindles during 2nd stage of slow-wave sleep (FSS, Hz), total number of sleep spindles during 2nd stage of slow-wave sleep (NSS, units), sleep efficiency (SE, %), minimum level of blood oxygen saturation during sleep (BOS, %), as well as additionally determining concentration of melatonin in saliva sample (M, pg/ml), taken once from 18.00 to 19.00 h, and calculating a sleep quality coefficient (SQC) by formula SQC = −24.84 + 0.62 × S2 + 0.68 × FSS − 0.3 × NSS + 0.63 × SE + 0.56 × BOS + 0.28 × M, if CCS is less than 1.76, development of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome in obese adolescent boy is predicted.
EFFECT: invention provides high accuracy (89%) of prediction of development of OSAS in adolescent boys suffering adiposity, which enables to conduct timely therapeutic and preventive measures preventing development and progression of pathology.
