SUBSTANCE: to predict development of severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, calculation by formula: where P is a prognostic factor of development of severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome; e is a base of natural logarithm =2.718; F is a separating function determined by formula: F= -10.58 + (0.032×IIstage) + (0.062×III-IVstage)-(0.06×REM)-(0.069×I/A)+(0.148×IA/H) - (0.012×Average SaO₂% NREM) -(0.16×OSF), where the II stage is total time spent by a patient in superficial sleep during a polysomnography night, minute; the III-IV stage is total time spent by the patient in deep sleep, minute; REM is total time spent by the patient in rapid eye movement, minute; I/A is a number of apnea episodes for 1 hour of sleeping, event/hours; IA/H is a number of -quantity of apnea/hypopnea episodes for 1 hour of sleeping, event/hours; Average SaO₂ NREM is an average blood oxygenation in a slow sleep phase, %; OSF is an oxidative stress factor. If P <0.5, prognosis is favourable, and probability of development of severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is low. If P≥0.5, prognosis is unfavourable and probability of development of severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is considered to be high.

EFFECT: method allows for high accurate prediction of development of severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
