FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used to assess reliability of complex spatial structures. Method includes load-bearing of article, registration of temperature field formed on surface as a result of internal thermomechanical processes, detecting internal defects by analyzing the temperature field, before the force action, electric current is passed through the article before heating, electric current value is controlled so that the article temperature does not exceed the allowable value, method includes recording temperature field of surface and measuring value and coordinates of its abnormal areas, applying mechanical load to article, re-registration of product surface temperature field is carried out, as per difference of two thermograms of article surface before and after mechanical load application presence of internal excessive stresses and defects is determined, article is heated by electric current to temperature of 3-10°C exceeding ambient temperature. Prior to the force action, the maximum permissible load on the item P0max is determined, the mechanical load is applied to the item stepwise. Temperature field of article surface is registered after application of load. Level of temperature noise on the thermogram is measured. Anomalous maximum temperature is measured on thermogram. Signal-to-noise ratio (s/n) is measured on thermogram. Observing the condition of reliable defect detection is determined. If the defect is detected unreliable, then the above described actions are repeated at the load Pi+1, if the defect is detected reliably, then the thermograms difference is measured and by value ΔT internal defects and their characteristics are determined. Method is realized by means of device for thermography of articles from polymer composite materials.

EFFECT: higher reliability of detecting defects in complex heterogeneous structures.
