FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the field of measurement equipment and can be used for evaluation of reliability of complex spatial structures from polymer composite materials (PCM) on the basis of results of thermal control at loading of items by mechanical vibrations. Thermotomographic method for determining the depth of occurrence of internal defects of the inspected article involves preliminary construction of a calibration curve of the greatest temperature change on the surface of the monitored article in the presence and absence of an internal defect in the article from the depth of the defect, construction of a calibration curve, subsequent excitation of ultrasonic oscillations in the inspected article, recording of the absolute value of change of the temperature field of the surface of the inspected article on the internal defect in time during the time of ultrasonic action and after its termination before cooling down, recording of the highest value and measurement of the corresponding value of time counted from the moment of termination of the ultrasonic action. According to the invention, the temperature field is recorded simultaneously on two surfaces of the inspected article and the depth of the defect inside the inspected article is determined from the obtained results. Device for the method’s implementation has been described.
EFFECT: determining depth of internal defects with accuracy required for practice, high reliability of detecting local sections of low strength, high reliability of evaluation results of technical, operational state and wider field of use of complex structures and their elements from PCM.
