FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to equipment of locomotives. Device for conversion of diesel-electric locomotive to electric locomotive contains working components for electric locomotive and transition frame, on which working components are installed. Transition frame is made with possibility of its connection with connection points of mechanical basic structure of diesel-electric locomotive. Working components comprise combined structures, namely: auxiliary converter together with AC rectifier, transformer together with cooling device, current collector together with transformer and transformer together with alternating current rectifier. Working components on transition frame are functionally connected to each other. At that, device is made with possibility of its actuation and with possibility of testing in form of system outside diesel-electric locomotive. Besides, device has roof and side walls structure, at that working components installed on transient frame form partially skin of vehicle. Also disclosed are electric locomotive and method of converting diesel-electric locomotive into electric locomotive.

EFFECT: technical result consists in simplification of locomotive modernization.
