SUBSTANCE: invention relates to primary processing of bast fibre material, namely to methods of preparation of a rotted straw for scutching by means of machining. Technical result of invention is achieved by the fact that in method of rotted straw preparation for scutching, involving operations of formation of layer of stems of linen stock, its thinning, rupture and pulling of raw flax through working edges, before pulling layer of raw flax by its thickness is divided into strands, pulling of strands is realized through working edges, which are located along helical line, have perpendicular to direction of flow movement circular motion path, at that speeds of layer and strands in direction of layer displacement are equal.

EFFECT: improved quality of preparation of a rotted straw for scutching, increased level of scaling, parallelization and straightening of strands of raw flax by volume of layer.
