METHOD FOR OBTAINING LONG BAST FIBERS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: primary processing of bast crop fibers, preferably, flax fibers. SUBSTANCE: method involves forming layer of stems; pressing-in said layer; providing single-sided beating with following double-sided beating. Prior to beating said layer, yarn portions to be processed are brought away from beating zone and then returned to beating zone for double-sided beating, with length of portion under processing being gradually increased from end parts to yarn clamping point in case of single-sided as well as double-sided beating process. EFFECT: increased yield of long fiber by reduced winding onto beating drums and increased efficiency. 6 dwg
