SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to systems and methods for detecting potential theft and identification of individuals having a history of theft. Such a result is achieved by obtaining an electromagnetic signal associated with an individual through a group of radio-frequency (RF) radiation detectors, each of which occupies corresponding position relative to said individual; determining location of an electromagnetic signal source associated with an individual, based on corresponding position of each RF radiation detector from said group relative to that individual; obtaining video data relating to an individual; analyzing video data to determine, whether a natural person has a commodity with a commodity identifier; correlating video data with the location of the electromagnetic signal source, thereby providing identification of a physical entity; and outputting an alarm signal if the video data are related to the position of the electromagnetic signal source.
EFFECT: technical result consists in possibility of tracking and preventing theft.
