FIELD: radio frequency identification systems.

SUBSTANCE: present invention describes a system for protecting personal data contained in a device with RFID support, which is suitable for use with an RFID system containing an RFID reader, configured to extract information from the RFID chip associated with the RFID-supporting device, wherein the system comprises a personal data protection system including an electronic markup system, including a camera, a personal data protection device configured to exchange data with the electronic marking system and selectively switch between the first operating mode, in which the personal data protection device is capable of detecting the carrier signal emission by the RFID reader and the second operation mode, in which the personal data protection device is capable of preventing the reading of the RFID chip associated with the RFID-enabled personal item, wherein when observing the emission of the carrier signal by the RFID reader, the electronic markup system electronically labels one or more potential sources of the carrier signal through the camera.

EFFECT: technical result is providing effective protection against and/or response to RFID-theft of personal data.
