SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems and methods for automatic backup and recovery of digital data. Self-repairing video surveillance system is disclosed. Video surveillance system comprises a first network video recorder and at least one surveillance camera, configured with the possibility to store the configuration data of the second network video recorder and to transmit the adjustment data of the second network video recorder to a first network video recorder to configure the first network video recorder as a replacement for the second network video recorder based on the data of the second network video recorder. First network video recorder contains a processor and a memory, containing instructions that, during the executed by the processor, enable the processor to perform: determining whether or not at least one surveillance camera has stored the configuration data of the second network video recorder; and in response to determining that at least one surveillance camera has retained the configuration data of the second network video recorder, receiving configuration data of the second network video recorder from the at least one surveillance camera in order to provide configuration of the first network video recorder as a replacement for the second network video recorder based on the received data of the second network video recorder.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in speed in the process of the self-organizing and the recovery of the data.
